Meet the speakers: Mark Rasmussen, Jones Day

Mark Rasmussen, a Jones Day Securities Litigation and SEC Enforcement partner resident in Dallas, will be speaking at the Boot Camp, primarily about legal issues concerning initial coin offerings (ICO). Rasmussen graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree from Brigham Young University and Doctor of Jurisprudence from Columbia University. He is a seasoned litigator with extensive experience in complex commercial litigation, regulatory and internal investigations, , and regulatory compliance related to cryptocurrencies, ICOs, and blockchain technology. He is actively involved in Jones Day’s blockchain initiative.
Rasmussen also regularly defends clients in shareholder and consumer class action suits, fiduciary duty claims, merger and contract disputes, and trade secret cases. He has substantial experience with U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) enforcement actions, Department of Justice investigations, and other investigations regarding conflicts of interest, accounting improprieties, antitrust, and more. His foray into the distributed ledger technology (DLT) and blockchain legal arena is a natural extension of his work in these areas. At the Boot Camp, he will address important legal issues concerning ICOs, including recent guidance from the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission and other financial regulators around the world.
