Meet our speakers: Cijoy Olickal, Chain Advisors
Learning how to utilize an emerging technology can seem like a monumental task, especially when it comes to the rapidly changing landscape of cryptocurrency and blockchain technology. For professionals looking to add blockchain to their business infrastructure, understanding the tech is crucial. On October 24, 2017, at the Alamo Drafthouse in Dallas, leaders in blockchain and cryptocurrency will converge for a one-day Blockchain Boot Camp. This intensive seminar will provide interested business professionals with a top-down view on blockchain basics as well as in-depth analysis on use cases for companies utilizing this innovative technology in the legal and financial industries.
Cijoy Olickal of Chain Advisors has extensive experience with applying cutting-edge technology to create practical business solutions. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the Illinois Institute of Technology and has applied his technical knowledge to robust business solutions. Following technical positions with engineering giants Motorola, 3Com and US Robotics, Olickal moved into the management consulting space with PricewaterhouseCoopers, IBM, Hewlett-Packard, SAP, Infosys. His path led him to opportunities in management consulting for business transformation via process automation, emerging technology adoption, and high-speed data analytics.
Olickal is currently a partner with Chain Advisors, a Dallas company that specializes in “deciphering the opportunities and myths of Blockchain and related technology as well as the business and legal considerations facing the industry and the innovators.” Blockchain technology is a natural fit for a career that began with automation systems for Global 100 corporations in the 1990s, corporate adoption of Internet strategies to enable new opportunities in the 2000s, and that continued with the exploitation of cloud computing to provide broader access to sophisticated solutions in the 2010s.
The Blockchain Boot Camp is a great opportunity for Olickal to speak on blockchain use cases. He will share his broad experience in management consulting, particularly as it relates to blockchain and cryptocurrencies. A career built on the continual exploration of “What if” scenarios leads to a complete rethinking of the underlying storage and computing platforms of distributed ledger technology (DLT) and blockchain. Participants in the Boot Camp and in this session will better understand the benefits and risks of this emerging technology and why they should pay attention to its potential for their businesses. Olickal will also speak about the opportunity to embrace the paradigm shift in how business partners communicate information and value with one another.
